Service Engineering

Service-oriented Systems are increasingly challenging traditional software engineering approaches including componentization, composition, requirements, specification, verification, and evolution. Continuous mutual impact between service-oriented computing and software engineering has been seen in the last decade, and can increasingly be witnessed.

The mission of this workgroup is to provide a forum to exchange research results on Service Engineering, and to foster collaborations among european projects.

We seek new projects with particular interests in:

  • Model-driven service engineering
  • Design and development of adaptive services
  • Run-time environment for services

The upcoming output of this work group is a joint book----"Service Engineering. European Research Results", in which the chapters are contributed by 10 projects in this work group. The book aims to introduce the state of the art of service engineering methods and on-going research efforts from the perspective of research results elaborated in European research projects. The book will be announced in the next collaboration meeting on Internet of Services (19-20, October, Brussels).
